Summary : This article examines democratic deliberation and citizen participation in today’s hyper-digitalized world. The first section analyzes the growing use of algorithms in politics, framing this development as part of a broader effort to transcend the human condition. Three contemporary algorithmic political initiatives are discussed to illustrate this trend. The second section considers the role of narratives and physical presence in democratic deliberation. The case study of climate assemblies serves to highlight both the limitations and the opportunities for citizen participation. Employing a hermeneutic-critical methodology, the aim of this article is to contribute to the strengthening of democracy. We argue that fostering direct, face-to-face interactions would further enhance citizen engagement.
